Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actor, singer, and dancer. She started her Broadway career with musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. She received an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in the Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress has collaborated with directors, actors, and other performers on stage and screen for her entire career. Ashford is scheduled to be starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently in production for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford, who will appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The team behind Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at helm of the show. Ashford has been seen most recently as Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show centers around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the first impeachment proceeding in America over a Century. Ashford starred for two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character as Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and currently splits her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
