Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born August 9th, 1976 from Beaumont Puy of Domme. Her parents were dentists as well as a teacher recognized and encouraged her passion for theater and acting from a young age which overcame her initial ambition to be a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. Early success and a rapid growth in popularity was a sign of her development as an actor. The beginning of her career came in 1999, when she started acting professionally. After her studies, Tautou was a participant in the French TV show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church when she was a child and was brought up Catholic. But she has now distanced herself with her Catholic upbringing. Neben her acting, Tautou pursued modelling and was the model in the advertising campaign for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. An avid photographer, she created a show at The Arles International Festival entitled Superficial. In her photographs, she concentrates on fame and the spotlight. Cameras are focused on journalists who examined her as she rose to fame in Amelie. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her first role in Amelie Poulain in Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. Amelie has been undoubtedly a huge box office smash internationally and praised at many award shows around the world. Amelie is the highest-grossing French film across the US. The film's success has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, including British dramas such as Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
