Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was the first person to reach a flawless 10 on an Olympic celebration. Bela Karrolyi, a Romanian gymnastics teacher who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci aged six. The year 1969 was the first time she competed at the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. At her first international event in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974, she was an overall junior champion. In her first international competition as a senior in 1975 she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning 4 gold and one silver medal. The first female ever to perform the backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began as an entertainment professional as a teenager performing as an ice skating duo along with her twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol ventured into the entertainment business as a teenager. She began her professional career by performing figure skating along with Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment programs Ice Capades. It featured dramatic ice-skating shows.
